Well?
I arrive at the house — the “home for the homeless” we’ve been praying to purchase — this morning about 9 a.m. Waiting on word that the transaction has actually been recorded. Smoky, Tank and I are there taking measurements and discussing some of our options for the renovations that will be needed.
The time for the house to “record” comes and goes. Our realtor calls and says he hasn’t heard anything. I’m wondering if we should stop what we’re doing and see if there’s some problem with the transaction.
And then it happens. At 11:29 a.m.
I receive a text message: “YOU OWN IT! IT RECORDED!”
In that moment, I stopped what I was doing and simply felt a deep wave of gratitude.
First a deep gratitude for Jesus Christ for His sacrifice… for the work of The Cross.
I then thought of you … and so many friends who have given so generously to make this crazy idea actually happen.
More than 60 people or churches gave a total of $29,030… including one that just came in from a 5th grade football team! What is that all about? (It’s about love… that’s what!)
We will begin renovations on the house Monday. After a day of serving the homeless and poor at Mountain View Park… and then a day of rest.
People who know me understand I use about 10,000 words a day… And I figure most of those 10,000 are not even that necessary. Today I really have just five:
THANK YOU. I AM GRATEFUL.
Grace & Peace,
Mike
