URGENT: NEED TO MOVE HOMELESS MINISTRY

One question I am often asked is “What is our ‘success’ rate?”

In a way, it’s an awful question.  Jesus, hanging on a cross, had a 50% success rate with the two insurrectionist hanging there with him.

Maybe it’s not politically (or religiously) correct to say that, but if you’re talking ‘success’ rate, it’s true.

Four years of street ministry has taught me that the definition of “success” is elusive.  Is it getting someone off the street?  Off meth or crack? Stopping prostitution?

Is it “praying the prayer”? Once? Twice? Is it saying things a pastor wants to hear?

My answer to the success rate question is this:  100%.  I have the belief that Jesus Christ is able to fully restore 100% of the entire world. Period.

But our part in Jesus’ “success” rate has to grow. Let me show you why, and how.

I’ve shared many stories over the past couple years about men and women whose lives have been transformed.  People like Smoky,  Owen, Cody & Cynthia, Gery Don Bruce, Donna & Larry, Charlie & Corrina, Stuart & Lavonne, Dennis, and Adam.  There are many more.

I’ve also shared the stories of friends that have died.  From overdose, heat, or murder.

For us to be able to best serve those in Sunnyslope, we need a place for people to go.  Even the Israelites moved from the desert to their home.  To the promised land.

So it comes down to this.

We are moving into Sunnyslope, and not just to serve breakfast and lead worship on Saturday mornings. One way or another, we will be serving people’s needs seven days a week.

We need a home to do it in.

It will take only $1,000 per week to do this.  This will pay for a lease, insurance and utilities.

I am looking for five people to give $500 per month and twenty to give $100 per month.

We’re not going to have any “memorial bricks” or “commemorative leaves” or anything like that with donors’ names on them.

We are going to have a place for people without hope to receive the Gospel … and a cup of coffee.

Here’s the timeframe:  NOW.  Literally, we are working with a realtor now and hope to be moved in the next three weeks.

I am very grateful for your prayer support.  We really need your financial support again today as well.  Thanks for hearing me out.

As always, if you have questions or want to talk with me directly I would invite you to call.  I’ll meet with you whenever and wherever.

Grace & Peace,

Mike
