Questions for God
Questions for God
About a month ago Doug Brendel, our teaching pastor, asked the people we serve to write down the one question they would have for God if they were able to have a one-to-one meeting with Him. Here are some of the responses:
- If God is so powerful, why are so many people still suffering?
- Why did God let man have “free will”?
- If God likes us why is it hard to find work?
- Do you really exist?
- Why can’t we all get along?
- How can it be that a person tries to do good and tries to do what is right and it seems that things get worse and worse?
- It isn’t fair - some people have so much - others do not. Why is there so much suffering?
- Specifically, how does someone draw near to God?
- Jesus is love who changes the heart. What is the purpose of love?
- Thank you for breakfast!
- Describe the nature of evil and how it is manifested.
- Being a Christian, what truth then should a heart seek?
- Where is the Kingdom of God?
- Dear God: What I am gonna do with a 10% titanium arm?
I wasn’t sure of what I’d find when I started looking at the questions. What I discovered is the homeless and poor have the same questions for God as I do.
What question are you asking?
Grace & Peace,
Mike Ricker
